Note: This chapter meeting was truncated to make time for 2025 Chapter Officer Nominations for the upcoming 2025 Chapter Officer Elections on 11/14/24.

Attendance:

John Dennis, Chapter President called the meeting to order

Keith Ward, Chapter Chaplain opened the meeting with prayer

John Dennis welcomed Oklahoma State Representatives, Jack and Fran Thomas, and guests

Jack Thomas – Oklahoma State Representative

  • 2024 CMA National Rally – Changing of the Colors
    • Dates/Location: October 16 – 20, 2024/Mena, AR
    • Try to attend, even if for only one or two days; you will be blessed
  • Seven Soldiers
    • $7.00 monthly donations/$84.00 per year
      • Goes towards daily expenses at the CMA National Office such as:
        • Phone Operators to answer phone calls containing ministry questions
        • Mail expenses
        • Membership Training processing
        • These are just examples of what the funds are used for. This list is not all inclusive

Fran Thomas – Oklahoma State Representative (with a focus on Run for the Son (RFS)

  • Mentioned a church app that can be used to donate to RFS and Seven Soldiers (did not provide app name)
  • When donating to Seven Soldiers online or via the app, remember to include your member number so your name will be included on the list the CMA National Office provides to each CMA State Representative
  • Reiterated the importance of Seven Soldiers in funding processes at the CMA National Office
  • New CMA National RFS Coordinator – Sheila Clark. Pray for Sheila’s success in her new position

John Dennis – Chapter President

  • Bikes on Bell
    • October 17 – 18, 2024. Last gathering this year; this event should return again sometime in the spring.
    • Most of the chapter members who regularly attend this event will be in Mena, AR for the Changing of the Colors. If you would like to represent our chapter either one or both days and would like to use the canopy, banners, chairs and water/lemonade coolers and cups, please let John Dennis know this evening, so arrangements can be made for you to pick them up prior to him and Karen leaving for Mena, AR

  • Shawnee Toy Run Balance is $401.00 – Funds are located within the ending balance shown above
  • Run for the Son Balance is $1,822.65 – Cash donations for RFS come into this account and then a check is written/sent to CMA Nationals from time to time. The first weekend in May 2025 a final check for all funds received for RFS that remain within this account will be written/sent to CMA Nationals to be included in our overall RFS total.

The Treasurer’s Report, as reported by Robbie, was approved by all chapter members in attendance.

  • Atwood’s Hotdog Days – Not only do we sell hotdogs and chips, we also minister to those we encounter and pray for those who ask for prayer. We have blessed bikes at this event as well
  • Ladies in Leather Motorcycle Rally – Our chapter was represented by four of our female members. We volunteered at the registration table and helped with traffic control at the entrance. Registration was handled via a QR Code.

  • Did not bring September Meeting Minutes to this meeting
  • Handed out nomination forms to all in attendance; provided instructions; collected nomination forms

Scott Speer – Road Captain

  • Several members of various CMA Chapters recently rode in the Yukon Czech Parade and went out to lunch afterwards
  • If you are going to Changing of the Colors, some members are leaving on various days throughout the week. Get with Scott and he may be able to coordinate your departure with other chapter members so you aren’t riding to Mena, AR alone
  • Thursday is Sherri Speer’s birthday
  • 10/26/24 – Mercy Me/Crowder Concert in OKC – Six chapter members have volunteered for the event
  • Will make a decision about a devotion breakfast ride after everyone returns from Mena, AR
  • 10/31/24 – Brown Derby Trunk or Treat – Several chapter members to participate in this event
  • Debbie added the Air One Concert coming up in Tulsa. She will send the information to John Dennis

Keith Ward – Chapter Chaplain

Devotion:

  • Keith recently recommended the book “The Walk” to a young man who is new to Christianity and the young man is now coming to church and is building a relationship with the Lord
  • Romans 1:16 – For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
  • John 3:16 – For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
  • How does the gospel reveal the righteousness of God? 1 John 1:5 – This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
  • God was right and just in sending Jesus to us as a sacrifice
